Hurricane Katrina 9th Ward
After the storm...

From November 16-21, 2005 I travelled through New Orleans and Mississippi collecting the images and stories of the people who have the courage to reclaim the Mississippi Delta after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The work is published in the Pittsburgh City Paper, but I quickly realized that the story deserved a longer shelf life.

This site is dedicated to all who believe that they can make a difference and who have the courage to act on that belief.

Project Of A Thousand Stories About the Project:
Each of us has a tale to tell:
artist, activist, warrior, parent, friend, survivor,
believer, lover.
Some have endured tragedy.
Some give us hope.

This art installation is inspired by the people and region affected by
Hurricane Katrina.

It honors the threads of language and experience
that bind us as a community.
