* * ATTENTION * *
* Shawnee Rainbow Gathering Has Been Moved *
Due to problems with the old Rainbow site, a new site has been
selected. Please pay attention to the new directions, even
though flyers and info have been widely circulated for the
Old Site (Opossum Trot Trail). These are the directions to
the new Shawnee Gathering Site.
The Gathering runs from October 1-11, and October 12-17
for cleanup. We apologize for the short notice of this.
The site picked by the Focalizer for this region was deemed
inappropriate by other Rainbow brothers, and these brothers
have picked the new site. Lloyd, the focalizer put a lot of
time into finding the original site and was disappointed
at this turn of events. Nonetheless, come on down and let
your heart open wide. Workshop leaders are welcome.
Drive West on RT. 13 through Carbondale, Illinois. Turn left
at last stoplight onto old Rt. 13 (by Kroger). Take old 13
to 127. Go South on 127 about 4 miles (127 runs south from
Murphysboro). Drive to Old Orchard Rd. There is a school bus
sign just before the intersection. Turn right onto Old Orchard
Rd. travel 4 miles to a 4 way stop (this 4 mile stretch is very
twisty). Go straight through the intersection onto Hickory Ridge
Rd. Take Hickory Ridge Rd. past fairview Christian Church and
Little Grand Canyon. The road to the site is on the left, 1.5
miles past Little Grand Canyon, right by a mobile home.
Drive to the first turn around, and take the trail on the Left.
