ENHANCED directions to the Rainbow Gathering:
CO. Take state road 133 east to PAONIA. Take 410 east, past
ELECTRIC MNT. LODGE to Forest Service Road 701. Shortly after
the 21 mile marker, take FS 705 to OVERLAND RES. (parking). Two
     mile walkin.
The last major store from this direction is in
Grand Junction, CO. There is a grocery store in Delta, but no
natural foods. (Coming from south, stock up in Durango, CO.)
82 south from Glenwood to Carbondale. West on 133 at Carbondale
over McClure Pass to Paonia. At Gas station on 133 turn right
(north) on Forest Sercice Rd 701. After the 21 mile marker, take
        FS 705 to OVERLAND RESERVOIR.
A Nice, but small natural food store is located in
Paonia. Best bet is to stock up in Glenwood Springs. Naturally
Health Food Store 3 blocks South on 82 from the Interstate has
vowed to stock major "goodies" for the rainbow travelers. There
is also another, larger health food store one block East and
north from this store. There is a health food store in
Carbondale but availability of many items will be limited. The
food store City Market in Glenwood Springs has many Natural Food
items. The Circle Super food store in Carbondale will be the
last major grocery store before the gathering site. Their
natural foods are mixed into the general merchandise. (e.g. The
soy milk is with the canned milk, crackers with crackers, etc.).
There are two campgrounds 10 miles past Carbondale off 133 at
Avalanche Creek. Go east at the Avalanche Creek sign.
Another campground is 24 miles past Carbondale (take the Marble
turnoff and go 1/2 mile to Bogan Flats Campground.) and just
before the Ragged Mountain Rd. turnoff, about 8 miles from the
above mentioned Marble turnoff is McClure Pass Campground. Both
        have water and restrooms.
I live 24 miles from the Rainbow site and will report back after
visiting the site tomorrow (June 10). WELCOME HOME!!
(Busses should follow directions posted elsewhere (actually the short
way in.)
